As
long as I can remember, I have been enhancing my surroundings. As a child, I filled my room with shells and rocks carefully placed. My mother's scarves and fabric scraps added just the right touch of color. Books and toys were arranged just so. Without really being conscious of it, I was seeking to create a personal haven where I felt happy and safe. It's human nature to desire such a retreat. The places in which we spend our time, both our homes and our workplaces, should nurture and inspire us. Then we are empowered to create the lives we truly desire.
